Let me just add that even if you are home all day long, other things or the intense heat always seeem to get int he way of a gorgeous garden. :-) Mine is thriving this year however so are the weeds and I can't keep on top of them. This is my 2nd year and I'm learning something new each time. Maybe in 30 years I'll have one of those gardens completely free of weeds lol. For now though I have tons of yellow squash, cucumbers and green tomatoes. :-)

I sure am glad I'm not alone! At least your garden is actually in the ground! All I can manage are containers.... One of my tomato plants already has yellow leaves! Probably doesn't help with the stupid dog pees on my plants....

Your garden stories sound like mine!!! I have a ginomous garden full of glorious weeds!! Oh, and I have a few potato plants that are thriving. :-) This is my third summer and I'm not getting any better at it yet. My biggest hurdle....getting stuff planted. I so wish I could be home all day so I could plant and maintain a beautiful garden that would provide us with tons of food. Oh well....maybe in 30 years when I get to retire.
